Nokia, today at a global launch event in New Delhi, launched a much speculated device - Nokia Asha 501. Inspired by the design of Lumia series, the device comes with a solid build and design, it is brought into the market with a refreshed look and to give a tough competition to low-end Android devices. "Asha Software Platform" has been introduced in this device, which comes with better and a much fluid UI than the previous versions, it features Swipe functionality which can help accepting calls and various other tasks with just a swipe.
The Asha 501 comes with a 3" display with QVGA (240 x 320) resolution, unlike the leaks, which stated that it would come with a 3.5" display with resolution of 320 x 480. It runs on 1 GHz processor and 64 MB of RAM, and comes with a very low, just 128 MB of internal memory but not to worry Nokia is giving a 4 GB micro-SD card in the box and the memory can be expanded upto 32 GB.
It comes with a 3.2 MP fixed focus camera that can record QVGA videos, without any flash or front camera. It measures 99.2 x 58 x 12.1 mm while it weighs around 98 grams. The phone is powered by 1200 mAh battery, which promises a standby of 48 days on single-SIM model and 26 days standby on dual-SIM model.
Connectivity features include 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, but there is no support for 3G, but Nokia promised to bring future Asha devices with 3G functionality. The device will be available in different colors like Bright Red, Bright Green, Cyan, Yellow, White and Black. It will be available at a price of $99, approx. Rs. 5300, without taxes.
It would not be wrong if 2012 is called the year of Android devices, because this was the year when a large number of android powered devices were launched by some Indian which had features to compete with high end devices. This all created a chaos and confused the buyer that which phone he needs to buy. Don't worry, we have come up with a list of Android phones to suit every budget.
On the foot steps of the launch event of Samsung Galaxy S4 in India, I got a chance to put my hands on to the flagship device. The device has almost same dimensions as seen on Galaxy S3, despite the fact that the display is a bit larger than the S3.
The Karbonn A5+ is an upgraded version of Karbonn A5 and the only difference as compared to its predecessor is that the A5+ comes powered by 1GHz processor and with a 3MP rear camera. The A5+ is also cheaper than the A5 handset.
