Samsung has launched the biggest phones in the Galaxy series in India, they are Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8. The Korean giant has also announced the smaller version of their flagship smartphone - Galaxy S4 in the international market, it is Galaxy S4 Mini. All the phones come with a loads of features borrowed from the higher end devices. Now lets talk about the devices in detail.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
This is a massive size phone that supports screen size of 5.8 inches, which makes it a little bit bigger than Galaxy Note 2, comes with resolution of 960 x 540 that grows to just 190 ppi, that's not expected from Samsung. Running on latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 with Nature UX skin over it, comes with 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory and is expandable upto 64 GB.
It has an 8 MP rear camera that can shoot 1080p videos with ease plus there is a 2 MP front shooter for video calls. Due to its huge size it weighs around 182 grams with 9 mm thickness. It is a dual-SIM device that runs on 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. It supports 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and is powered by 2600 mAh battery. It is available in selected retail stores at a price of Rs. 25,100.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
If size of 5.8 inches seemed massive then this one is even more, it comes with a 6.3 inches display, yes 6.3 inches, making it very close to a 7 inch tablet. It comes with a slightly better display with 720p display that accounts to 233 ppi. It runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 with 1.5 GB RAM, 8/16 GB of internal memory. Under the hood it has 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor with Andreno 305 GPU. It weighs 199 grams with 8 mm thickness and comes with a 3200 mAh battery. Supports same camera features as the Galaxy Mega. It comes loaded with set of all connectivity features. It is priced at Rs. 31,490.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
Right after the success of Galaxy S4, Samsung announced its mini version with some downgraded specs to probably keep the price low. It comes with a 4.3 inch super-AMOLED qHD display, comes loaded with Android 4.2 wit Nature UX, with many of the software features its bigger sibling. Comes with a 1.5 Gigs of RAM, 8 GB internal memory, with 64 GB memory card support. It runs on 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 400 dual-core CPU with Andreno 305 GPU. It comes with a host of connectivity features with a 1900 mAh battery. Price details will be available once the device enters the market.
It would not be wrong if 2012 is called the year of Android devices, because this was the year when a large number of android powered devices were launched by some Indian which had features to compete with high end devices.
